Named in honor of the legendary Professor Longhair, whose rhythms and melodies helped define the New Orleans sound. The Fessy Award is a striking 8-inch replica of the iconic musician. This tribute symbolizes Professor Longhair’s indelible impact on the city's vibrant musical landscape. The awards will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to New Orleans music, whether through performance, preservation, education, or innovation.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by The uptown Ruler, Cyril Neville, the celebrated member of the Neville Brothers and longtime advocate for the preservation of New Orleans culture. This marks Neville’s return as host for the 7th Annual Fessy Awards, promising an unforgettable evening filled with music, storytelling, and celebration.

The event is presented by the Krewe of FessHead, an organization devoted to recognizing those who embody the spirit of New Orleans music. Through the Fessy Awards, the Krewe not only honors musicians but also the unsung heroes working to preserve the city’s musical legacy.
